Tom Tanner Named Chief Operating Officer of Comfort Systems USA

Houston, TX – June 2, 2004 – Comfort Systems USA, Inc. (NYSE: FIX), a leading provider of commercial/industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (“HVAC”) services, today announced the promotion of Senior Vice President Thomas N. Tanner, 55, to Chief Operating Officer.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Operating Officer, Tom Tanner served at Comfort Systems USA as Senior Vice President – Operations, Vice President – East Region, and East Region Controller. In 2002 and 2003, he successfully led his region to win the Company's Region of the Year Award. Tom has extensive experience in the mechanical contracting industry, having worked as a part owner and Vice President – Chief Financial Officer of Comfort Systems USA (Syracuse), Inc. (Armani Plumbing & Mechanical, abj Fire Protection Co., and Woodcock & Associates), that was acquired by Comfort Systems USA in September 1998.

He has been actively involved in several industry-related organizations, including the American Subcontractors Association and the Contractors Financial Management Association (CFMA). Tom is a past President of the Central New York Subcontractors Association and he is the past President of the Empire State Subcontractors Association. Tom was one of three recipients of a 2001 Comfort Systems USA “Pinnacle Award” recognizing outstanding personal achievement. He holds a degree in Economics from Syracuse University.
